Love to Love You Baby

And in relationships, business included, showing the love is what it is all about.

For instance:

  • Make some fantastic introductions for folks in your network. The special part about these introductions is that they are proactive and not reactive. You’re going out of your way to open doors and help your contacts. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is.
  • You exceed (and not just meet) your client’s expectations. You come in under budget, way before the anticipated delivery date or you simply provide more than they anticipate. Fabulous—a veritable love fest.
  • You conduct “gut check” meetings in which you channel your inner Ed Koch (how am I doing) and provide your clients with an opportunity to brain storm and share ideas…and without any meter ticking. Love means giving your client a voice.
  • You continually remember that you have scores of competitors and KNOW that your client can go elsewhere. You’re a trusted  business resource and not a vendor and continue to nurture the relationship every year that you work together. Love means never taking them for granted.

Think about. Be honest with yourself. Do you show your clients the love or are there some that you take for granted.
