Develop a 3rd Quarter Frame of Mind

Welcome to July, the beginning of the third quarter. Sure this is the time for sun, fun, picnics and vacation but it is also the time to take a serious look at where your business stands today and what you need to do for the rest of the year.

A close look at your numbers might indicate that all is going incredibly well and you are on target to meet or even exceed your 2015 goals. Terrific. The flip side is that an inspection of your numbers might show that you are lagging behind where you should be right now and at this pace you will fall short at year end.

There’s no cause for alarm (well, maybe just a little!) because it’s Q3 and there is lots of time to change things around. The key factor is knowing where you stand and recognizing that you MUST take action to set things right.

But there’s no time to waste either. Maybe it’s because I am getting older but the months seem to fly by ridiculously fast and almost before I know it the new year is looming ahead.

So let’s get started and if you feel that you could do better in this second half of the year, then some of these tactics might be right for you. Need any help—chat with me.

  1. Be a better networker
  2. Qualify your suspects and prospects more diligently
  3. Examine your expenses to see what (if anything) can be cut
  4. Prospect more (5 more outreach attempt each day will open more doors guaranteed)
  5. Ask for help where you need it (sales, accounting, marketing, writing, operations)
  6. Examine your sales competencies to see if any skills enhancements are required
  7. Explore new marketing strategies
  8. Don’t COUNT on any one tactic working by itself
  9. Be a better swimmer in the social media pool
  10. Don’t allow yourself to fall off the grid. Deploy exquisite touch point management
  11. Create great content (if you can’t do it yourself, get help {See #5})
  12. Stay motivated and don’t allow yourself to wallow in your own negativity
  13. Surround yourself with positive people

  15. Get healthy and stay healthy
  16. Don’t BS yourself. Be brutally honest
  17. Ask for referrals
  18. Develop a comprehensive prospecting plan of attack
  19. Mine the gold in your existing account database
  20. Reactivate dormant accounts
  21. Smile more
  22. Be generous with your networking introductions
